Flaunting Pale and Fair Skin

For a long time now, I've been advocating the beauty of natural pale skin. I do not fake tan, and I definitely do not go into the sun attempting to get 'a bit of colour'. Girls with natural tans are absolutely gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but I would LOVE for girls (and guys!) with naturally pale skin to embrace the beauty of it, and not try to change themselves.

It seems to me that in magazines you see beautiful, serene and stunning porcelain beauties gracing the pages, but in real life, it is a rarity!

My tips for maintaining beautiful, porcelain skin? Lots of SPF! Perhaps look into a reputable skin lightener if you have freckles, pigmentation or uneven skin tone (I can't offer any recs as I haven't tried one). Ensure your foundation matches perfectly (don't let a sales assistant match you to a too-dark shade in an effort to 'give you some colour'. If your foundation is a perfect match for your skin tone, you will be flawless.

Too scared to bare all this summer without a tan? Nonsense.

What are your tips for maintaining your PPP skin?

1 year

I'm currently trying to come up with a gift, or something nice to do for my boyfriend for our one year. As the self employed full time worker, he has the money to buy and do for himself whatever he wants. I, as the full time student, do not. He isn't into majorly lovey-dovey things, and have already done the DIY homecooked meal/massage treatments at home. I am truly at a loss of what to do. Any ideas of what you have done for your partners in the past would be fabulous!

Just a small update on things..

- I got my uni results back. Two credits, a pass, and a fail. Yes. A fail. I'm devastated. It was Accounting that I failed, as I had suspected. I got a mark of 44, which meant I couldn't even apply for a conceded pass. I emailed my lecturer, and luckily she took pity on me and awarded me one more mark, so I can now apply for a conceded pass. As the uni offices are likely to be closed for the holiday season, I expect I will have to wait until next year to hear whether or not I got the conceded pass. I feel super disappointed in myself, and I feel like I let myself down majorly.

- I've been trying to save money like crazy. I haven't been buying any food or drinks out more than once a week (even then, its a very small amount).

- I resigned from my bartending job at the restaurant. They were just horrible there. I was the only caucasian girl there, and they made me very aware of that fact. If it had been the other way around, there is no way it would have been tolerated. They also cancelled the majority of my shifts at the last minute, making it a very unreliable source of income. In the meantime, I've just signed a contract for a 3 day per week job doing administration and events management for a dance company, which will fit in well with uni next year. I've also been put in the database of an events and promotions company, so hopefully I'll get some calls to do some ad hoc bartending at events, which will help a lot.

I'm in two minds whether to switch to part time uni next year, or stay doing it full time. It drove me crazy doing it full time, and made me feel very sad and stressed. I feel as though I need to switch to part time for my own sanity and to keep me from turning into a crazy and angry person all the time, which is what I had turned into. On the downside, it would take me longer to complete my degree, and I would no longer get Youth Allowance, which I rely on greatly, as it is so difficult to find work that fits in around my study.

I'm super excited about Christmas being so close. I won't be getting any more presents, as I already got the Chanel necklace from my boyfriend, and my mum will give me spending money for my Gold Coast holiday (I leave on the 30th!). I'm excited about good food, seeing Christmas lights, and boxing day sales!

- I've decided to complete my juice detox after New Years and after my holiday, as there are just too many times that I would slip up before then.

Sorry about the majorly text heavy post! I'll get back my blogging mojo soon.

Hair Dying Tips!

I'm in desperate need to dye my roots again, and I'm going to be brave and do it myself!

I went to Hairhouse Warehouse and they suggested I'd be best using Hi Lift Peroxide (20) and Hi Lift Blue Bleach. I have a 'creamy-white-blonde', which I tone regularly to get rid of any gold tones.

Does anyone have any tips, or recs for youtube videos for dying regrowth, ie sectioning and applying it? I've been unable to find a friend or anyone to help me!

(above - my hair currently. Even this is too 'gold' for me, so its in need of a tone as well as the roots being done!)
